Welcome to The Brain and Body Warrior.
A blueprint of lived lesson to help you understand your brain, conquer your body and develop your warrior mindset.
On today’s menu: What do you REALLY believe?
The Brain
Ever feel like you and your brain are not on the same wavelength?
You probably aren’t.
Don’t worry, that’s normal. I’ve been there.
You see, we all want to do certain things. To try certain things. To push ourselves. To chase our dreams.
Yet, inexplicably, it’s often our own brain that forestalls our progress. That convinces us it’s not worth, it’s too hard or that we simply aren’t capable of doing it.
What the f***s that about?
(Man, our brains and psychology suck sometimes).
The truth is, it all comes back to identity and belief.
And that’s where you and your brain can often be at odds.
You see, what we think we believe, what we know we SHOULD believe, is usually very different to what our brains actually believe.
You can believe, or think you believe, whatever you want. But if your brain believes differently, well then you’re f*****d.
Basically, your brain, like any good casino, always wins.
The problem lies in the fact that much of our identity and beliefs are developed subconsciously.
As such, we often aren’t even aware that they are there, running our lives in ways that are contradictory to what we actually want.
That’s why you may often find yourself repeating the same inexplicable and frustrating behaviors time and time again, no matter how much you vow to change.
Unveiling and then unravelling these hidden beliefs, or your hidden identity, is the critical if you want to grow.
But how do you even begin to find something that’s hidden in the unidentified depths of your subconscious?
The simple answer?
Start by noticing your unconscious behaviors and actions.
The things you say without thought. Your automatic responses to situations. The thoughts that seem to most preoccupy your mind. All of these things are little clues that can begin to help you unmask the insidious beliefs controlling your life.
They’re all telling you something.
Always ask yourself:
What does this say about my beliefs or identity?
You see, nothing happens for no reason. Your brain doesn’t work that way. Everything means something. You need only observe over time and begin to connect the dots.
So, what do you really believe?
