A blueprint of lived lessons to help you understand your brain, conquer your body and develop your warrior mindset.
On today’s menu: The real cost of your choices
The Warrior
It’s a strange contradiction.
It’s always is where people are concerned.
I recently heard someone say “No one will look after your body but you.”
In fact, I think the logic of this statement goes even further:
No one cares about your health and wellbeing at all.
Not really, anyway.
The reality is that it’s an abstract concept to everyone but you. People will live their lives as best they can, no matter what’s happening with you.
Alzheimer’s. Cancer. Low Energy. Fatigue. Whatever it is, it’s all on you. That’s the hard truth.
And yet…
Nothing exists in isolation like this. It’s not nature’s way.
While your health decisions, what you choose to do or not do, might only directly impact you, the deeper truth is that your decisions carry a greater weight.
The biological, psychological and social impact of your choices matter in ways that modern science is only just beginning to understand.
Trauma and other psychological issues, which have been shown to affect how genes express themselves, can be passed down through the generations.
Unhealthy thought patterns, and the behaviors they spawn, can also easily have an impact on those around you.
Biologically, your gut microbiome, which is a key to long term health, and which can be negatively impacted by many facets of modern life, is something that you literally pass onto your children, especially if you are a woman.
More simply, your health habits, or lack thereof, are something that are often passed on to your children, friends and family, and as well as, potentially, countless future generations beyond that.
Basically, the decisions you make today regarding your psychical and mental well being are like a contagion. They spread. For better or worse.
And they can spread far further than you might ever think or realize.
So, if you’re struggling for motivation, for a reason to finally take the action you always known you've needed to to get your health in order, then consider this:
The decisions you make now have the potential to affect countless people, including numberless people from generations yet to come.
So, ask yourself this:
Is it worth the short lived dopamine rush that comes with constantly eating fast food, knowing that this could negatively impact the health of your future children, grandchildren or even great grandchildren?
Is it worth doom scrolling social media for endless hours, literally stressing yourself out and making yourself more anxious, rather than spending your time positively impacting those around you? (who might in turn do the same for others).
It is worth not dealing with your emotional and psychological baggage, knowing that this could also be passed on to others?
Actually, are any of your unhealthy habits, which you know you need to change, really worth the potential cost?
